PIRATE PALS
Cultivating Volunteers for School Gardens and Life
Join the Roots that Bind Us PIRATE PALS program and help cultivate learning, connection, and growth in local gardens. Volunteers receive training and are deployed to sites where they support students and community members through hands-on garden experiences.
Current project sites include the Southwestern University Community Garden and Teinert Memorial Library in Bartlett, with upcoming opportunities in Georgetown Independent School District.
This program fosters mentorship, community engagement, and personal growth for participants of all ages. Training sessions are offered on the first Tuesday of each month at the Southwestern University Community Garden. Everyone is welcome—no prior experience required.
